Was ist hier richtig: mir gefallen oder mir gefällt?
Wie ich auf die Frage gestoßen bin:

Word zeigt mir an, dass "gefällt" an dieser Stelle falsch wäre und der Lösungsvorschlag ist "gefallen". Aber irgendwie klingt das für mich nicht ganz richtig.
Hier die Sätze:

Kongruenz zwischen Subjekt und finitem Verb
Die Beantwortung Ihrer Frage ist Teil eines Forschungsprojekts zur Verständlichkeit von grammatischen Erklärungen. Wir bitten Sie deshalb darum, im Anschluss an die Lektüre der Antwort die Tools zur Bewertung (Fragebogen, Sternchenfunktion, Antwortoption) zu nutzen.
Sprachsystem
Hier liegt ein Problem der Kongruenz zwischen Subjekt und finitem Verb vor. Als Grundregel der deutschen Sprache gilt, dass das finite Verb (also der Teil des Prädikats, der die Numerusmarkierung trägt) mit dem Subjekt in Person und Numerus übereinstimmt. Normalerweise bereitet das den Sprechern auch keine Schwierigkeiten – steht das Subjekt im Singular, muss auch das finite Verb in den Singular gebracht werden, und das Gleiche gilt für den Plural. Die Herstellung von Kongruenz läuft also quasi automatisch ab.
Es gibt allerdings Subjekte, bei denen nicht so leicht zu entscheiden ist, ob sie nun im Singular oder im Plural stehen, was natürlich auch die Herstellung von Kongruenz mit dem finiten Verb erschwert. Genau dies trifft auf Ihr Beispiel zu.
Der Grund dafür, dass es Ihnen schwer fällt zu entscheiden, ob es gefällt oder gefallen heißen muss, liegt also nicht beim finiten Verb selbst, sondern beim Subjekt. Das Subjekt dieses Satzes besteht aus zwei Teilen (die Mischung, der Kontakt), die durch die Konjunktion und miteinander verbunden sind. Der Dudengrammatik zufolge sind in diesem Fall – je nach Lesart - Singular und Plural des finiten Verbs zulässig, da man den Satz grammatisch auf zweierlei Art und Weise deuten kann. (Vgl. Dudengrammatik S.1004 f.)
1. Die einzelnen Subjektteile die Mischung und der Kontakt können, obwohl sie für sich genommen im Singular stehen, „zusammenaddiert“ werden, so dass das Subjekt als Gesamtpaket als Plural aufgefasst wird. Verfolgt man diese Auffassung, ist es naheliegend, auch das finite Verb in den Plural zu setzen. Hier würde also die Duden-Kongruenzregel II für Subjekte mit gereihten Subjektteilen greifen: „Die Reihung gilt gesamthaft als Plural, das finite Verb steht daher ebenfalls im Plural.“ (Dudengrammatik § 1602)
Demzufolge müsste es „An dem Beruf der Veranstaltungskauffrau gefallen mir besonders die Mischung aus kaufmännischer Tätigkeit und der Kontakt mit Menschen.“ heißen.
2. Aber auch der Singular ist grammatisch begründbar: Der Satz könnte ursprünglich aus zwei Sätzen bestanden haben, die durch eine Verbindung mit der Konjunktion und zu einem Satz zusammengezogen wurden. Der „Ursprungssatz“ könnte wie folgt ausgesehen haben:
„An dem Beruf der Veranstaltungskauffrau gefällt mir besonders die Mischung aus kaufmännischer Tätigkeit und an dem Beruf der Veranstaltungskauffrau gefällt mir der Kontakt mit Menschen.“
Da dies natürlich ziemlich umständlich ist, tendieren Sprecher dazu, Bestandteile, die in beiden Sätzen vorkommen, einmal einzusparen. So kann man im zweiten Teil des Satzes die Ergänzung An dem Beruf der Veranstaltungskauffrau und das finite Verb mit dem Dativ-Objekt gefällt mir streichen, da diese Elemente in zweifacher Ausführung erscheinen. Somit bleibt nur noch das Subjekt plus Ergänzung der Kontakt mit Menschen übrig.
In diesem Fall kommt die Duden-Kongruenzregel III für Subjekte in zusammengezogenen Sätzen mit nur einem finiten Verb zur Anwendung. Hier heißt es, dass sich das Verb bei Subjekten in zusammengezogenen Sätzen mit nur einem finiten Verb nach dem näher stehenden Subjekt richtet. Das wäre in Ihrem Fall die Mischung aus kaufmännischer Tätigkeit, das für sich genommen im Singular steht, so dass das finite Verb den Numerus dieses Subjekts übernimmt. Somit lautet Ihr Satz dann:
„An dem Beruf der Veranstaltungskauffrau gefällt mir besonders die Mischung aus kaufmännischer Tätigkeit und der Kontakt mit Menschen.“
Fazit: Schlussendlich hängt es also von Ihrer Lesart ab, welche Variante Sie bevorzugen. Aber wir können festhalten, dass beide Varianten standardsprachlich anerkannt und somit „richtig“ sind. Der Dudengrammatik zufolge ist der Plural allerdings gebräuchlicher.
Sprachgeschichte
Anhand von Dokumenten aus früheren Sprachzuständen (etwa dem Mittelhochdeutschen oder dem Frühneuhochdeutschen) lässt sich zeigen, dass die Deutschen schon seit geraumer Zeit rätseln, ob der Singular oder der Plural des finiten Verbs in solchen Fällen die bessere Wahl ist – in den alten Schriften findet sich mal der Singular, mal der Plural. Eine endgültige Klärung des Zweifelsfalls ist auch heute nicht abzusehen, aber die Tendenz geht offenbar zu einer mehr „integrativen“ Betrachtungsweise des Subjekts, d. h. es wird zunehmend als ein komplexes Element mit pluralischem Charakter aufgefasst, was den Plural des finiten Verbs zur Folge hätte.

War die Frage überhaupt richtig formuliert?
Völlig korrekt bezieht sich die Antwort natürlich auf die gestellte Frage. Aber hat sich denn jemand auch einmal Gedanken darüber gemacht, ob die Frage nicht schon einen Fehler an einer ganz anderen Stelle hatte?

Wenn die Fragestellerin intuitiv den Singular richtig empfindet und über den von Word vorgeschlagenen Plural verwundert ist, muss man sich vielleicht die Frage stellen, warum empfindet die Fragestellerin das doch eher ungewöhnliche Singular vom Bauchgefühl her richtig? Ich komme zu dem Schluss, dass es für die Fragestellerin nie eine Variante gab, bei der die Pluralform in Betracht kommen kann, weil für sie "die Mischung" ein Singular ist. Gibt es denn "eine Mischung aus kaufmännischer Tätigkeit"? Nein! Wenn gäbe es "eine Mischung aus kaufmännischen Tätigkeiten". Folglich bezieht die Fragestellerin "die Mischung" auch auf die beiden Aspekte "kaufmännischer Tätigkeit" und "Kontakt mit Menschen". Dann ist nämlich "die Mischung" im Singular und ganz wie die Fragestellerin nach dem Bauchgefühl meint, heißt der Satz dann:
"An dem Beruf der Veranstaltungskauffrau gefällt mir besonders die Mischung aus kaufmännischer Tätigkeit und dem Kontakt mit Menschen. " (Achtung: nicht "der Kontakt", sondern "dem Kontakt")
Ich bin nur ein einfacher Kaufmann, der in Grammatik nicht viel zu bieten hat. Aber Logik ist schon eher meine Stärke und deswegen stellte sich mir von Anfang an die Frage, welche Mischung die Fragestellerin in ihrem Satz überhaupt meint.
